The animation is better-than-average and a bit of a nod to the superb Max Fleischer Superman cartoons from 1941-1943. The art direction (a mix of bauhaus, art deco and futuristic tech) is superb - if only the Batman movies were done just like this series, they would be the greatest super hero movies of all time. *The new intros on some of these episodes - replacing the dramatic opening "bank heist" scene and end credits with cheaper, "Adventures of Batman & Robin" (which they did for a tie-in into the ill-fated 1997 Joel Schumacher trainwreck) and the straight-up crappy "Batman & Superman Adventures" (presumably as a tie-in to the upcoming film or a reference to crossovers that may have happened later) - are a bummer, but they"re not on EVERY episode - some retain the original, far superior intro & end credits.
